Just letting you know that the Reverse Garbage workshop is filling fast, and the smaller one at my studio is booked out with a waiting list. If you are thinking of doing the Recycling workshop, please act quickly.
Daniella Woolf is coming to Australia next month and will be doing two workshops in Sydney. She’ll also be teaching at TAFTA in Geelong, but her workshop there is fully booked.
Improvise with Encaustic at Reverse Garbage.
Hut 9, (on the left after you drive in, just before Reverse Garbage.)
The Addison Road Community Centre
142 Addison Road
Marrickville NSW 2204
Dates: Friday 12th, Saturday 13th September, 10am to 4pm.
Cost: $270 plus some cash to spend at Reverse Garbage.
Our first exercise will be procuring all our “art supplies” at Reverse Garbage. We will then transform said supplies into encaustic art works. We will explore the versatility of encaustic medium, which can be polished, carved, scraped, layered, collaged, dipped, cast, modeled, sculpted, textured. We could be doing collage, sculpture, assemblage, working on or off a flat surface. Be prepared to improvise with your materials and wax! It is best if the student has some previous encaustic experience.
There is plenty of parking at the community centre. Please bring something to contribute to a communal lunch. There is a simple kitchen. Tea and Coffee will be provided.
Here is a link to a blog about a similar workshop Daniella ran back home on Whidbey Island.
